I LOVE Garlic Bread!
I love Garlic!
I love bread!
Put them two together and forget it! I will eat till I am beyond stuffed! To me, one of the BEST smells is garlic sautéing in olive oil…They need to make an air freshener with that sent! So I was on my own when I had this bread as Normy went out to dinner with our father and brother in-laws. So I made me a salad and this garlic bread. It was a last-minute decision, (on the bread) but the best one EVER! I was just going to make just plain ol garlic bread. But then I remembered watching the show where he made this and I was like oh man, I need to find that recipe…OH and let me just say this recipe calls for smoked paprika and yum. I have never smelled smoked paprika until I made this bread and it smells like that stuff liquid smoke. Its Smokey goodness. I think it really adds to this bread (who would have thought to add smoked paprika to garlic bread) Make this bread TODAY. You will never have just plain ol garlic bread ever again!
1/2 cup softened butter
1/4 cup mayonnaise
1 tablespoon minced garlic
2 tablespoons grated Parmesan
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Pinch red pepper flakes
1/4 teaspoon onion powder
1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
Pinch coarsely ground black pepper
1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley leaves
Pinch kosher salt
(I also added in 2 tablespoons of Monterey Jack cheese and 3 green onions sliced)
1 large French loaf
Preheat the broiler.
In a small bowl, mix together all ingredients until well combined. Cut the French loaf in half, lengthwise, and spread the butter mixture liberally on each half. Arrange on a sheet tray and broil until browned and toasty, about 3 to 4 minutes. Remove from the oven, slice and serve.
