Spicy Lemon Garlic Shrimp

Happy Christmas!!

I wanted to show you our tree…

Very festive and real…Smells so good!

Sad story…

We no longer have a tree…

Last Saturday The Norman and I went to King Soopers and got us a nice real tree! We were SO excited! The guy at the store even offered, and brought our tree home for us in his truck as it was to fat and full to put in/on our car. We are so close to the store anyways he was nice enough to bring it home for us…

Oh look there is Normy carrying Mr. Tree in…he is so full and fluffy and fat. I like him (the tree not Norman sheesh)

We put him up and gave him water. Heck we even looked up if you had to do something to the water to make it extra good for Mr. Tree. And Google.com told us to add warm sugar-water. So we did just that.

I gave him a day to get settled and drink some water before I hung ornaments on him.

Then we noticed he wasn’t drinking very much water, and drying out fast…

Well when we looked up how to water a tree we should of looked up that when you get a tree you are to cut the bottom of it off so that its a fresh-cut as the sap seals off the bottom of the tree and it can’t get water. So we found this out after I put 6 stands of lights on him and hung all our ornaments. So last Thursday we took him down , took all the decorations off and Normy went out and even bought a saw and we cut the bottom of the stump off to get a fresh-cut and get him some water. Then we put him back in the water and he drank a little and then no more… he dried out even more and died. So we had to dispose of him This past Saturday, a week later. So we only had a Christmas Tree for one week…very sad…

So now all that stands is an empty spot where Mr. Tree once stood…We will miss you old friend. Even though you were with us a week. You would have liked it at our house. It’s very festive and clean and you would have been around some wonderful food and two wonderful people…Goodbye old friend.

I think that could be a new record on shortest time to have a Christmas tree!

OK this is so depressing I need to talk about something else…LIKE FOOD!

and what better way to cheer this post up than with a PIONEER WOMAN RECIPE! (I love her, bet you didn’t know that did ya?)

Sorry to say this, but after I made this recipe I felt sick, as it had TOO much butter. Yes I said it. There is a such thing as too much butter. Sorry Paula Deen!

Recipe

■2 pounds Raw Shrimp, Deveined, Shells On (I got shrimps with the shell off, cause I don’t do shell)
■2 sticks Cold Unsalted Butter Cut Into Pieces
■1 teaspoon Kosher Salt
■4 cloves Garlic, Peeled
■1/4 cup Fresh Parsley
■1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper
■1 whole Lemon, Juiced

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Rinse frozen shrimp to separate, then arrange in a single layer on a baking sheet.

In the bowl of a food processor, add cold butter, garlic, lemon juice, salt, parsley, and red pepper.

Pulse until combined.

Sprinkle cold butter crumbles over the shrimp.

Bake until shrimp is opaque and butter is hot and bubbly.

Serve with hot crusty bread. Peel and eat the shrimp, then dip the bread into the butter in the bottom of the pan, and then puke! The End!
