Ranch Hashbrowns

Take 5 Yukon gold potatoes

Peel them

Then shred them

place the shredded potatoes in a colander and run really cold water over them, then rinse them more and squeeze the water out.

keep repeating this the until the water runs clear when draining them.

This helps when cooking them to not make them gluey or turn that ugly grey color (my friend Stacey showed me this).

Drain them really well and place in a bowl

Preheat a cast iron skillet to medium heat and coat with oil

Add shredded potatoes

Spread out in pan and add salt and Pepper to taste

then get a ranch dressing packet

and add that to the potatoes

stir around so it coats all the potatoes…Also the ranch packet makes the potatoes sticky so when cooking be careful because they burn easily and they stick to the pan. Just keep scrapping the bottom of the pan and flipping the potatoes until they are done, so they don’t burn…

Cook potatoes for 15-30 minute until a crispy brown
