All about Jamie!

Hello there world, I am Jamie! Crazy Jamie! Welcome to my blog! So I love food! A LOT! I love to cook it, look at food porn, make new recipes, I think about food and even dream about it! I LOVE FOOD! I think my favorite food is bacon, sushi, pasta, sour cream, ranch, oysters, salmon…just to name a few. So I am not big on grammar and writing. I just type away and hope it makes sense. So if you are big on grammar and spelling well I will drive you nuts, because I suck at it! I am just saying what is on my mind and add in periods and commas where I think they should go and hope it’s right! Needless to say, I didn’t do very good in English class in school! HA! Thank god for spell check, or this post would be even worse!

I love food, (did I mention that) I love to take pictures, I love to try new recipes! I love Pinterest! Pinterest is my go to for food recipes and everything else! What did we do before Pinterest? Or Facebook!? So I am 39 years young. Holy cow, I didn’t think I would make it through my 20’s and here I am 39! I have been married to my hubby Normando Luis for 8 years. We got hitched on 08.08.08. (cool date huh) So Normy (as I like to call him, or Norman) live in our our little town house in Aurora, Co. We just recently have a new addition to our little family, our kitty Olive. She’s the best, life was so boring before her and less entertaining. So I cook and clean, drink wine, drink lots of coffee, take pictures of anything and everything, hangout with friends and family. I bake cupcakes for a living! A cupcake baker! So I am moody, crazy, goofy, nutty, outgoing, I used to have lots of energy but I get up at 2AM when I work and work long days, so I find that I am not as energetic as I used to be in my 20’s BLAH! Getting old sucks! So I LOVE to hike, we live in Colorado and I love them Rocky Mountains and any chance I can I hike! People always say they need to live near water, well I need Mountains. I have lived in Colorado my whole life and don’t see me living anywhere else. I love it here! My Parents and most of my family live here. My Normy is from Puerto Rico and I love learning how to cook food from his homeland (as he calls it). One day I hope to make it to the island and see where my Normy was born and all about where he comes from! I would also LOVE to visit Louisiana someday! As I LOVE Cajun/creole food and my #1 blog fan lives is from Louisiana. So I created this blog a while back and just post recipes I make and pictures I take. I don’t post as much as I used too, as my work schedule kicks my butt! Along with working full time baking cupcakes, I have a side business that I do for myself making cupcakes/cakes/pies and other sweets as well! I also sell Scentsy! So I like to keep busy! So here I am, Welcome to my world!

  1. Hi Jaime,
I happened upon this blog one day and it looks like you have some wonderful recipes that I have to admit, I’m dying to try! I too am a 31-year-old with my own cooking blog. I love testing and trying new recipes and even coming up with my own sometimes! My blog is only a couple of months old and I am trying to get a Blogroll going. I am most interested in adding websites like yours that have people trying and tasting food, only to pass it on to others!

Please let me know if you are interested in exchanging links with me, I’d love to see my website on your Blogroll too! You can check out and leave me a message there or you can email me at Keep up the good work! (And I hope your knee is feeling better!)

  2. Well thank you for you kind Comment Kate I can Add your blog to mine, I think all Foodies like us should do that for each other! I also checked out your blog and its Great! Thanks again! Happy cooking!

  3. Hey Jamie…love your site. Thanks for all of the recipes you try and photograph. You inspire me.
I know you and your husband will love this dip:

    Holy Cow! Dip

1 pound Jimmy Dean Original sausage
    1 8-0z brick cream cheese
    1 can Rotel (original)

Cook sausage completely. Remove from heat and drain fat. Drain Rotel and add to sausage. Stir in cream cheese. Mix thoroughly.

This dip will disappear in minutes…so double it. Great on Tostido’s Scoops…but this dip is so good, it would disappear if served on stale crackers.

    1. I am going to a party this weekend! And I think I might just make this! Don’t worry I will take pictures and post them!

      1. I have been going to the wrong site for you obviously….I didn’t think you’d just drop out of site!
Glad to be back on track!

  4. I just found your blog, Your doing a very nice job with it. Keep up the good work. I’m a big Julia Child fan also. And I have most of her books. She was a neat lady. My blog is about a month and a half old, and I hit the 1400 hit mark this even. I am really into French sauces etc. and do alot of Italian cooking. So if you have the time come on over and check out my blog an see what you think…. I think you’ll enjoy it. Take care and keep up the good work. You have a great site.

  5. Love your blog!
I’m a foodie from India and I’ve just started a blog a few days back.
Although its not entirely dedicated to food, I suppose most of the posts till now are all about the same.
    You inspire me.

  6. Jamie…as much as you love mushrooms…you have to make PW’s Burgundy Mushrooms. I’m making my second batch…they are to die for. Be careful with the salt as she mentions…oh my they are good.

  7. Jamie…I just thought to tell you something else…along with PW’s Burgundy Mushrooms I made PW’s “The Bread”. It is SINFULLY buttery…and when dipped in the juices from the ‘shrooms…you can just make yourself sick eating it…because it’s difficult to stop. Just a little FYI…to yoga I go!

    1. OMG you are killing me! I looked them both up and want to make them! Like NOW! Thanks again for the tip! You are an awesome fan!

  8. “The Bread” is going to blow you away! But that bread you made the other day with paprika…oh my…beautiful color too. I’m making it this weekend! Extra working out this weekend!

  9. Hi Jamie,
I’m a friend of Lori’s, and she just posted on Facebook about you. What a great site! I DO own a blow torch and was just using it this afternoon to melt glass “stringers”, I hate brownies and fudge, and love to cook, so I know I’m really going to enjoy your blog. This weekend I’m making Southern Living’s “Baby Blue” Salad.. (you can google it, the recipe comes right up) for 400 people. It’s Delish! try it! (When I have to make mass quantities of it like this, I use dried cranberries instead of strawberries.) I’m going to try your Dr. Pepper Pork as soon as my husband gets home!
    Nice to meet you!

    1. Hello and nice to meet you! Yay for Lori posting about my blog on Facebook! I love to know what people think of my blog.
Your salad sounds great I will have to look that up. The Dr. Pepper Pork is fabulous! You will love it!

  10. Hi Jamie,
I joined your blog the other day when Lori G. posted it on FB. I’ve really enjoyed reading it! I don’t know where you get your recipes, but I get a lot of mine off the FoodTVnetwork site. I don’t know if you ever go there, but if you get a chance, go to it and look up the recipe “Late Night Bacon” by Rachel Ray, and go read the reviews… there are several hundred of them, and they’re hilarious!
    Thought you might enjoy!

  11. Dear Jamie,
I Googled garlic bread, your recipe was the tastiest looking choice, and the rest is history. Kudos to you because it was the msot delicious garlic bread I’ve ever made, and it was exactley what I was looking for! I’m hosting my graduation party next weekend and I have my heart set on serving drumsticks of all varieties. I found some great ideas and I’ll defenitely be referencing your blog on a regular basis.
    Thanks so much.

    1. Hello Cassandra! Thank you so much for your kind comment! I love reading comments like the one you left! Makes me happy to know I made something someone else likes, or enjoys and wants to make! I LOVE me some garlic bread! My hubby loves drumsticks, so I am always looking for new recipes and sharing! So glad you found me! Happy reading and eating!

  12. I am so happy that I found your blog! I am a young mom married with two little ones and am always looking for fun (and instructional) recipes, and was so excited when I ran across your blog. Not to mention your pictures and little side stories have made me laugh so much in the last few days! Keep up the great work!!

  13. Hi Jamie!
I have been “lurking” around your blog for a while now and today I just had to shout-out a big HEEEELLOOOO! This hello is brought to you all the way from the desert dunes of Dubai. I’m a fun-loving, animal-loving, sunflower-loving, BodyPump-loving, 80s-music-loving German gal married to a wonderful Scottish man and oh, I also love to cook and bake 🙂 Thanks for sharing your great stories & recipes here… and thank you for introducing me to the world of PioneerWoman! Her chicken & noodles have truly changed my life! (ok, a bit dramatic, but they’re oh so yummy!) Best wishes / Jess

  14. Hey Jamie! I am not usually a blog follower but I just came across yours and cannot wait to try some of your recipes! I’m a horrible cook but love trying new things and always looking for new ideas (my poor husband has to suffer the consequences). I am hoping I can handle some of these. When I read your profile I was rolling laughing, you seem like you are a blast! And I also love windex and paper towels!

    Great site!
